Let me break the illusion right away. Unfortunately, it’s not always qualities like knowledge, integrity and responsibility. Sometimes it’s pure strategy, because organizational dynamics are not always fair.
But know this: there is a difference between those who shine briefly and those who last.
People who choose the path of integrity, collaboration and shared growth may not be the first in the photo, the spotlight might not be on them, but they are the ones colleagues return to. These are the people who leave an impact, not just an impression.
We often witness those who try to be someone’s “favorite,” always present, always helpful – gradually lose themselves over time. In that constant need to prove themselves through others’ eyes, they forget their boundaries, authenticity and the purpose that set them on that path in the first place.
Favoritism is sometimes a reflection of someone’s inner insecurity – a need to be seen at any cost.
From a somatic perspective – the body knows. It knows when we act out of a desire to belong, and it knows when we act out of a desire to contribute. That’s precisely why I believe in long-term strategies – profession, knowledge, integrity, exchange and support. In authenticity that doesn’t demand space – it creates it.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re being “overlooked,” it doesn’t mean you’re not worthy. Maybe you’re just not playing the same game. Be patient. The right path carries its own weight and its own depth. Everything falls into place.
