As soon as I mention somatics and somatic leadership, many people ask me what it is. When I was introduced to it a few years ago, I was delighted and decided to go through the ICF’s accredited program for somatic coaching at The Somatic School of London. During that education, I learned a lot of new things, new vistas opened up for me, and I got answers to questions that I had and had been thinking about for a long time. Through theory and practice, I saw how useful all this can be and how these elements can be incorporated through regular coaching sessions.

After this, I decided to go “deeper” and start the program Somatic Coaching in Leadership.

But let’s start from the very beginning. The word somatic comes from the Greek word soma, which means the living body as a whole. It refers not only to the body but also to the mind, spirit, and emotions that affect it.

So, how does this relate to the business world?

The benefits of applying somatic coaching in the corporate world are numerous. The trainings organized by Balance to Business produced fantastic results. My recent experience showed that people are open to hearing something new, applying it immediately and giving feedback on how useful it is for them.

As far as the corporate world is concerned, somatic coaching starts from knowing that leadership skills and principles can be learned and embodied through the physical state. It improves leadership skills, increases productivity, better manages different emotions and relieves stress.

I am aware that this is an entirely new field in coaching, especially here. However, employees in technology, finance, education, healthcare, entertainment, etc. have directly enjoyed the benefits of somatic coaching.
