At the very beginning, I would like to thank everyone who placed their trust in me and courageously embarked on a journey into the unknown by participating in the first group somatic coaching program “Leadership. Now and here.”
As a leadership and somatic coach, it has been an incredible experience for me, so even though the program was on Saturday, the impressions are still coming to me.
Since it is a new approach to leadership, it required the explanation of various scientific models, such as the polyvagal theory, on which somatics is based. Perhaps I should have announced the practical part as “Expect the unexpected” because the participants did not expect those exercises at all. That’s the magic. They could immediately see, feel and experience what somatics is and what to pay attention to when leading oneself and others. For some, it was also a nice way out of the comfort zone.
There was laughter, a good mood, an exchange of insights. The sentences that left the strongest impression on me were “I really needed this.” and “I will really benefit from this.”
Although the elements of somatics are very complex and require time, I did my best to share knowledge in a simple and receptive way. A safe and supportive space was created where participants learned from each other.
In the coming days, I will share with you the impressions of the participants so you can “hear” their side of the story.
