My trip to the Philippines was truly unforgettable, filled with moments of joy and introspection. The Philippines is pure magic – crystal clear water, golden beaches, breathtaking lagoons and healing sands. I filled my days getting to know the history of this fascinating country, their culture and warm people who inspired me with their simplicity.
On this journey, I learned that every step, no matter how challenging or unplanned, is an opportunity for growth. In the end, wherever we go, we carry ourselves – our habits, expectations, but also the ability to learn and adapt.
I would like to share with you a few reflections that have stuck with me:
- You can’t control everything – New Year’s Eve at the baggage claim, extra seats that were cold – these are just some of the challenges that I could not have predicted. However, I decided to focus on what I could do to make myself more comfortable. Just like in coaching – the focus was on the solution.
Reflection: Planning is important, but flexibility and positive attitude are key when it comes to unexpected circumstances.
- Leave room for new experiences – Travelling with a group provides an opportunity to better understand ourselves and others. Different approaches and dynamics open space for learning.
Reflection: Differences teach us understanding and patience. When we provide space and openness, experiences become richer.
- Intuition is great, but not always enough – Tiny rooms and mismatched expectations reminded me how important it is to insist on clear information and agreements in advance.
Reflection: Traveling is more enjoyable if there is a balance between spontaneity and planning.
- Resourcefulness is your ally – When accommodation or circumstances are not ideal, you should take the initiative, explore and create your own experiences. This decision brought me a sense of freedom and satisfaction.
Reflection: When you take responsibility for your experience, you open the door to possibilities you may not have expected.
- Appearances are often deceiving
A good hotel can be noisy until late at night, and people or situations that seem perfect can be different when you get to know them better.
Reflection: Always look deeper – the truth is often more complex than it appears at first glance.
- Do not adjust at any cost – In situations where I tried to adapt at all costs, I often felt like I was losing a part of myself. When I got rid of that feeling, I found peace and authenticity.
Reflection: When you rely on your intuition and values, choose an environment that supports you and strengthens you.
Don’t forget – when we find a lesson in everything, every journey becomes precious.
